S.W.O.T Analysis - Little Mermaid Digital Painting

S.W.O.T Analysis - Little Mermaid Digital Painting

i decided to evaluate some of my own digital work from my personal pieces in a s.w.o.t format to see how different my approach to the work style is.

My strengths approaching this piece is instantly my knowledge on digital painting at it being one of my strongest areas of work. this means i am confident and able to approach the piece of work quite easily knowing what tools to use to create the desired outcome i want to achieve. my secondary strength in this piece would be my use of research on female anatomy. this makes sketching out the piece quite simple as the basic shapes of the body are easily formed and recognized as i work.

weaknesses found in this piece is the drawing of creatures and background. i do not often draw creatures nor do i often draw backgrounds and i think that the difference in the level of painting of the female character is highly distinguisable to that of the rest of the image. the illustration of her looks far more confident and experianced to the odd positioning of the background. i feel that this piece highlights my weakness in this area and should be improved upon for further works.

I took this piece as an oppourtunity to see where my strengths and weaknesses are inside of digital painting. digital pianting is my strongest area and i feel that i shouldnt let certain aspects of it fall behind and i should level my skills all round. i took this as an oppourtunity as a self progress evaluation.

there was no real threat to this piece other then abandoning it half way through. sometimes when creating backgrounds i feel i have ruined a piece of artwork and give up on it. the only real threat to my personal work is self doubt.
